Key Personnel
Helen Elward, Editor-in-Chief, is an experienced academic, university lecturer, teacher, and administrator. She is a published author of four highly successful books. Helen is the founder and director of Best Legenz, an Australian publishing company, and has facilitated the publication of several hundred books, diaries, and tourist magazines and guides. Helen has 15 years’ experience as a publisher, graphic designer and project manager. During this period she has dealt with, supported and advised clients, from first-time self-publishing authors and small business owners to CEOs and advertisers.
Kim Dixon, Image Editor, is a lifetime photographer with over 50 years’ experience who currently teaches photography. A student of photography at the University of Washington, Kim also prepares photographs for publication, restores damaged and timeworn pictures, and maximises the quality of digital and scanned images for printed and web publication. As well as his visual/photographic skills, Kim is a journalist who has written for and edited a range of books and magazine publications for Best Legenz as well as independent clients.
Janice Hogg, Copy Editor, is a career journalist and freelance magazine and book editor with more than 30 years in publishing. From an early start editing scientific books, Janice went on to craft customised magazines for airline clients, managing the process from concept to hard copy. As a freelance subeditor she has helped polish the pages of some of Australia’s best-known glossies, including Belle, Better Homes and Gardens and Vogue Australia, as well as collaborating on multiple publishing projects with Best Legenz.
